The founders

Liam

Strategist Liam, co-founder and strategist

Liam spent his career inside some of the largest and most successful companies in the world, working across financial analytics, management consulting, and business development. At BlackRock, he was honored with a national innovation award for building a fix to a real operational problem and noticeably enhancing the firm’s sales. He went on to earn an MBA from The Wharton School and sharpen his strategy skills at Boston Consulting Group.

His takeaway from all these experiences: only the largest players could attract and afford the teams of top talent to build the right solutions to their most crucial problems. Everyone else had to settle for off-the-shelf bandaids and “I guess this works” fixes, leaving money, time, and peace of mind on the table.

Liam started Ictus to put those same capabilities in the hands of the businesses the market left behind. Blue-collar, first-generation, and on a payroll before he could drive, he has spent his career proving that the overlooked are usually just underestimated.

Jonathan

Implementer Jonathan, co-founder and implementer

Jonathan spent ten years building software that businesses run on. Four were at Bluefin Capital Management, writing the tools an options trading team used to place and monitor live orders, work where a bug costs real money in seconds. Three were at Korr, an eight-person startup building a claims system for a long-term-care administrator: he helped design it, ship it, and migrate decades of records out of the legacy system it replaced. It went live and the business runs on it today.

Those years taught him what it takes to put software inside a working business. What has changed is the economics: AI means one careful builder can now do what used to take a team. The judgment about what to build, and the work of making it stick, never got automated.

He studied computer science at Stevens, and left in February to build Ictus.
